Brock Zeman’s repertoire, at twenty-eight years of age, rivals that of seasoned performers twice his age and he shows no signs of stopping any time soon. With the ease of an experienced showman, his performances balance the grit of everyday life with a lyrical heart, painting vignettes that everyone can relate to. His songs are catchy, singable, packed with emotion - and wisdom - but are grounded in his straight-forward vocals and heavy acoustic guitar. His biting lyrics are reminiscent of the messages contained in the songs of John Prine and his rich, raspy vocals beg to be compared to those of Steve Earle. For his Regina appearance, Brock will be accompanied by Blair Hogan on guitar and mandolin. Together they form a tight roots-country ambience that Zeman effortlessly wades into with his compelling vocals.
Brock has released seven critically acclaimed albums in the last seven years. Following his debut release Cold Winter Comes in 2003, he produced six more albums in quick succession. His latest, Live @ The Acoustic Grill, was released in October of 2009. Brock currently makes his home in Carleton Place, Ontario.
