Although he’s only twenty-nine years old, Zeman has released eight albums featuring his distinctive brand of rough-edged country, folk, and bluegrass, sprinkled with a slight tinge of the blues. With the ease of an experienced showman, his performances balance the grit of everyday life with a lyrical heart, painting vignettes that everyone can relate to. His songs are catchy, singable, packed with emotion - and wisdom - but are grounded in his straight-forward vocals and deft acoustic guitar. His biting lyrics are reminiscent of the messages contained in the songs of John Prine and his rich, raspy vocals beg to be compared to those of Steve Earle. For his Regina appearance, Brock will be accompanied by Blair Hogan on guitar and mandolin and Dylan Roberts on drums. Together they form a tight roots-country ambience that Zeman effortlessly wades into with his compelling vocals.

Zeman has played on stage with some of the top talent of the contemporary roots and Americana scenes, including Steve Earle, Fred Eaglesmith, Corb Lund and Toby Keith. He has released eight critically acclaimed albums in the last eight years. Following his debut release Cold Winter Comes in 2003, he produced seven more albums in quick succession. He recently founded Mud Records, his signature label for releasing new material, including his most recent album, Ya Ain’t Crazy Henny Penny (2011). Zeman currently makes his home in Carleton Place, Ontario.

“Where was this troubadour hiding? This is a songwriter worth hearing over and over again.” - Exclaim

“One listen invites comparisons to such giants as John Prine, Steve Earle and Guy Clark.” - Peter North - Edmonton Sun

“Brock Zeman is a master songwriter, who writes with a maturity far beyond his chronological age. He digs in dark places
and comes back with diamonds. He belongs on stage with the big boys.” - Lynn Miles (Juno Award Winner)
