Bourne

Bill Bourne began his professional music career in 1975 and released his first album in 1982. Over the years he has toured and recorded solo, but is, perhaps, best known for his collaborations with other musicians including: Scotland's Tannahill Weavers, Alan MacLeod, Shannon Johnson (The McDades), Hans Stamer and Andreas Schuld, Tri-Continental (Madagascar Slim and Lester Quitzau), Eivør Pálsdóttir, and Bop Ensemble (Wyckham Porteous and Jas Ohlhauser). Bourne is an activist for social justice and a gifted and creative musician who has been an important part of the roots and blues music scene over the span of his career. His ravaged poetry, powerful rhythms and soulful melodies are steeped in world beat, folk, funk, blues and more. A multiple Canadian Juno Award winner, Bourne has received international acclaim for his recordings and live performances.
