Jonathan Byrd, a seventh generation North Carolinian, is preacher's son, a Gulf War veteran and a Kerrville New Folk award winner. A Jonathan Byrd performance is musical theatre, bringing together the Texas songwriting tradition with southern storytelling and hot guitar picking in the line of North Carolina greats Doc Watson and Tony Rice.
Since he began his folk career in 2000, Byrd has released seven solo albums; his latest, You Can't Outrun the Radio in 2014. For his Regina performance, Byrd will be accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Johnny Waken on guitar, mandolin, saw and more. Waken has worked with Byrd since 2009.
"What a treat to hear someone so deeply rooted in tradition, yet growing in his own beautiful way." - Tom Paxton

Corin Raymond is a singer-songwriter in the style of Johnny Cash who often draws comparisons to John Prine. Like Johnny Cash, Raymond is a troubadour whose robust veracity of soul appeals to older folks and children alike. As with John Prine, Raymond's material appeals to other songwriters as much as to his cross-generational fans. His songs have been covered by the likes of Dustin Bentall, The Good Lovelies, The Strumbellas, The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, and a far-flung community of roots musicians and enthusiasts.
His songs are very Canadian, slightly apocalyptic, and suggest criminal activity. Judges quote his lyrics when handing sentences down. Truckers cry. Raymond's newest album, Hobo Jungle Fever Dreams, will be released this month. For his Regina performance, Raymond will be accompanied by Brian Kobayakawa on double bass.

Ray Bell and Tahnis Cunningham are a Regina-based performing duo. Ray is a singer-songwriter, guitarist extraordinaire, producer and composer who has toured extensively, both nationally and internationally, performing at folk and bluegrass festivals. He is a studio musician who has performed on many albums and is in demand as a guitar instructor at music camps throughout western Canada. He is a founding member of Music in The House, a Regina music school. The other half of the duo is Tahnis Cunningham on fiddle and vocals. She started playing the violin at age five, and except for a three-year hiatus, she has been playing ever since. She honed her musical skills playing in the Cunningham Family Band while growing up in Edmonton. In addition to the duo, she is also one of the fiddlers in DownBeat, a six-member modern fiddle ensemble.
