"Dala can sing! What beautiful flights of melody and harmony ..." - Peterborough Examiner

Dala, comprised of Sheila Carabine and Amanda Walther, was formed in 2002 when they met at a Scarborough, Ontario high-school music class. Since their inception they have released six critically acclaimed albums and have toured extensively across North America and the United Kingdom.

Influenced by The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, Dala's cleverly crafted songs are both catchy and insightful. Amanda's ethereal soprano voice blends seamlessly with Sheila's velvety alto, creating the lush pitch-perfect harmonies that have become their trademark. Their vocals are underpinned by relatively sparse accompaniment from piano and acoustic guitar. They are equally entertaining between songs, telling funny and down-to-earth stories that make every show unique.

Dala has opened for artists such as Tom Cochrane, Stuart McLean of CBC's Vinyl Café, Richie Havens and Arlo Guthrie. They have performed at numerous festivals including the New Orleans Jazz Festival, The Edmonton Folk Festival and The Mariposa Folk Festival. In 2009, they were the only Canadian act invited to play at the 50th Anniversary of the Newport Folk Festival.

Dala's recordings have garnered multiple awards and nominations from various organizations including the Toronto Independent Music Awards, the Canadian Folk Music Awards and The Juno Awards.

"... the angels of folk music. Ethereal, eloquent and downright beautiful, the music they create is faultlessly performed." - Exclaim
